Off-Net Protection ensures that your DNS requests are securely managed even when your users are off the corporate network. It provides an additional layer of security by preventing unauthorized access and ensuring that your internet traffic is protected, wherever your employees are logging on from.

Summary
The Off-Network Protection client for Windows experienced installation and uninstallation failures on French machines. This was due to Microsoft InTune’s inability to recognize language transforms and use the correct Product Code.

Solution
The issue has been resolved in the Off-Network Protection client version 2.18. To ensure a smooth update, system administrators must explicitly uninstall the old version using the correct uninstall string before installing the new version.

Steps to Fix the Issue

1. Uninstall the Old Version:

   • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
   • Use the following commands to uninstall the old version based on your current version and language:
     • 2.10 EN: MsiExec.exe /X{56131B43-34C0-4A06-B79F-EEEC8CE71E15}
     • 2.10 FR: MsiExec.exe /X{78328821-454E-4119-88C7-FF190444814F}
     • 2.12 EN: MsiExec.exe /X{94EAADCE-1FF0-4683-83CA-9C6FA0ECF2D2}
     • 2.12 FR: MsiExec.exe /X{2D3896D0-6BD5-4A52-95C0-8CB48E9BBC43}
     • 2.16 EN: MsiExec.exe /X{5CDB33F7-492E-4B1B-B502-292DBDD6F4D5}
     • 2.16 FR: MsiExec.exe /X{B9D67954-33B4-4B82-9C2B-076B34B393E3}

2. Verify Uninstallation:

   • Ensure the following registry keys and folders are removed:
     • Registry Key: HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Uninstall/{ProductCode}
     • Registry Key: HKLM/SOFTWARE/AkamaiSps
     • Folders:  C:\ProgramData\CIRA DNS Firewall  and  C:\Program Files\CIRA DNS Firewall

3. Install the New Version:

   • Download and install the Off-Network Protection client version 2.18.
   • Follow the standard installation procedure.
